ACCOMMODATION
University's Guest Facility
Accommodation for participants is available at the university's guest facility on campus. It is a 30-minute walk from the conference venue (or 5-minute drive by car or bus). We pre-reserved a maximum of 40 rooms but you need to make the reservation arrangements promptly by yourselves, by contacting them and stating you are part of the GAPs group.
Address: Akdeniz Üniversitesi Sağlık, Kültür ve Spor Dairesi Başkanlığı, Eğitim ve Sosyal Tesisler Müdürlüğü Kampüs / Antalya Turkey
Contact: Elif Hanim +90 546 471 8963 (for reservations)
E-mail: sosyaltesisler@akdeniz.edu.tr
Prices are currently as follows (they will slightly increase in the new year)
Single room: 1800TRY (37 EUR as of Sept 10, 2025) for guests from Turkey and 2250TRY (47 EUR as of Sept 10, 2025) for guests from abroad
Double room: 3000TRY (62 EUR as of Sept 10, 2025) for guests from Turkey and 3500TRY (72 EUR as of Sept 10, 2025) for guests from abroad
The on-campus residence is the most affordable option (as it is subsidized), yet it remains very clean and of a good standard. Guests can also benefit from the on-site restaurant and café. The only limitation is its location on campus, meaning there is no 24/7 convenience store nearby and it is not within walking distance of beachfront cafés and restaurants.
If enough participants choose to stay there, we will try to arrange a morning and evening shuttle service between the campus and the residence. Otherwise, taxis or hitchhiking would be possible alternatives.
All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, a television with a central satellite system, a mini bar, a hair dryer, and 24-hour uninterrupted hot water. The facility also offers two accessible rooms for guests with disabilities. Breakfast is included in the room rate, and wireless internet (Wi-Fi) is available throughout the social areas at no additional cost.
Please note that a one-night room charge is required in advance for all reservations. Accommodation fees can be paid in cash, by credit card, or via bank transfer. The remaining balance will be paid upon arrival, as prices will slightly increase in the new year to reflect inflation.

USEFUL INFORMATION
Attire
The dress code for all conference sessions and events is smart casual. Antalya, as a coastal city with a relaxed atmosphere, tends to have a more informal style of dress, especially compared to larger metropolitan areas.
Weather
January is wintertime in Antalya, with average daytime temperatures ranging from 10°C to 15°C. While generally milder than in other parts of Turkey, the weather can be rainy, and evenings may be chilly. We recommend bringing a warm jacket and an umbrella.
Currency
The official currency of Turkey is the Turkish Lira (TRY). Due to ongoing fluctuations in the exchange rate, we recommend checking current rates before making any currency exchanges. As of mid 2025, approximate rates are:
1 USD ≈ 41 TRY (as of September 10, 2025)
1 EUR ≈ 48 TRY (as of September 10, 2025)
Major foreign currencies can be exchanged at airports, exchange offices, and banks. Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in most establishments.
Revolut is also an option. If you have a Revolut app you can exchange directly in the app and pay contactless in most of the places.

TOURIST INFORMATION: Discovering Antalya – Konyaaltı
Nestled between the majestic Taurus Mountains and the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean, Antalya is a city steeped in history, natural beauty, and cultural richness. As the jewel of Turkey’s southern coast, Antalya has been prized by civilizations throughout the centuries—from the Romans and Byzantines to the Ottomans—each leaving their mark on the city’s architectural and cultural landscape.
If you have time to explore, be sure to visit the Old Town (Kaleiçi), with its cobbled streets, Ottoman-era houses, and the iconic Hadrian’s Gate. You can also enjoy the city’s ancient Roman harbor, now a lively marina surrounded by cafes, or venture out to see the impressive Antalya Museum, showcasing thousands of years of Anatolian history.
Konyaaltı, where the event is hosted, is one of Antalya’s most vibrant and scenic districts. Located along a stunning stretch of coastline, Konyaaltı is known for its long, pebbled beach backed by mountains, offering breathtaking sunsets and a relaxed atmosphere. The area is also home to modern cafés, restaurants, and cultural venues, as well as easy access to attractions like the Antalya Aquarium, Atatürk Culture Park, and the Archaeological Museum. With its combination of natural beauty and modern comfort, Konyaaltı is an ideal base for experiencing both the historical and contemporary sides of Antalya.
Please note that there is no registration fee to attend the conference.
